Your First Visit to Our Oral Surgery Office
We understand that your first visit to an oral surgery office can be a bit daunting, and we are committed to making your experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
At the time of your first visit, please bring the following:
- The surgical referral and any dental x-rays provided by your dentist
- A list of medications you are presently taking
- Medical and/or dental insurance cards
It’s important that all patients under the age of 18 years of age are accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
Here’s what you can expect during your first visit to Needham Oral Surgery and Implant Center:
- Welcome and Check-In: Upon arrival, our friendly administrative staff will greet you and help you complete any necessary paperwork. To expedite the process, we recommend bringing your insurance information, a photo ID, and any referral letters or X-rays from your dentist or physician.
- Medical History Review: A thorough review of your medical history is essential for us to provide the safest and most effective care. Please come prepared to discuss any medications you are taking, allergies, past surgeries, and any other relevant medical conditions.
- Consultation and Examination: You will meet with Dr. Somi Kim, DMD, MD, or one of our other experienced surgeons. They will perform a comprehensive examination and discuss your symptoms, concerns, and treatment options. This is an excellent opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the procedure, recovery, and aftercare.
- Diagnostic Imaging: If necessary, we may take CBCT or other diagnostic images to get a detailed view of your condition. This helps us create a precise and effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.
- Treatment Plan Discussion: Based on the examination and diagnostic imaging, your surgeon will explain the recommended treatment plan, including the details of the procedure, anesthesia options, potential risks, and benefits. We will ensure you fully understand all aspects of your care and feel confident about the next steps.
- Scheduling and Financial Arrangements: After your consultation, our administrative team will assist you in scheduling your procedure. We will also discuss financial arrangements, including insurance coverage and payment options, to ensure you are fully informed and prepared.
Your comfort, safety, and well-being are our top priorities. We strive to provide personalized, compassionate care and are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need additional information before your visit, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. We look forward to welcoming you to Needham Oral Surgery and Implant Center.
